Breaking Down Dallas Renegades' 13 Cut Players with Multiple Big Surprises

The Dallas Renegades have officially made their final roster cutdowns to get the 2026 team down to 50 players.

While it was a tough day for all eight UFL teams to get their rosters down 50 players, the Renegades' depth certainly did not make things easier as they got it down with 13 players being cut. Here's a look at all the players that were released, according to UFL insider James Larsen:

Keegan Jones, RB
Brian Hightower, WR
Silas Bolden, WR
Peyton Hendershot, TE
Chim Okorafor, OT
Abdul Beecham, OG
Jake Burton, OG
Tramel Walthour, DT
Jah Joyner, DE
Chantz Williams, DE
Matt Jones, LB
Brandon Sebastian, CB

Reviewing some of the big surprises, everyone has their sights on the offensive line with a lot of former starters shockingly getting cut. Guys like Okorafor, Beecham, and Burton have all been long term starters in spring football over the years. That just shows the incredible depth of the offensive line in Dallas for them to release some top starters.

At the offensive skill positions, Jones and Bolden showed flashes with quick speed and versatility that makes it disappointing they did not get a spot on the team. Hendershot was an interesting name based on the fact that he played in the NFL, but having to beat out someone like Seth Green was always going to be a tall task.

On defense, there weren't as many surprises with Dorn being a name that sticks out. He started last year for the Renegades, so the secondary, depth must be in good shape for the Renegades to cut him. Sebastian is a spring football veteran that did not make it as well.

New Renegades head coach Rick Neuheisel has been saying over the weeks during training camp that there were going to be some tough decisions made with how good the roster is. Seeing these 13 players not making the cut is just another brutal reality of the business, but there's no doubt that some of these guys will get another shot elsewhere quickly.
