ARLINGTON, TEXAS (September 4, 2026) – As college football kicks off its 2026 season, the UFL’s connection to the college game runs deep, with former national champions, All-Americans and conference standouts connecting their school pride, and their rivalries, with them to the professional level.
The UFL’s 2026 end of season roster features 432 players from 166 college programs. A significant contribution of those players come from the NCAA’s Power Four conferences, including 81 from the SEC, 69 from the Big Ten, 66 from the Big 12 and 47 from the ACC.

True to Their School -
Each of these players at these schools once laid it on the line for their alma mater — many as All-Conference performers, All-Americans and national champions. Now they do the same for the UFL, often finding themselves sharing a locker room with players they once considered rivals.
The rivalries represented throughout the UFL extend across the country, with alumni of Michigan and Ohio State, Kansas and Missouri, Oregon and Oregon State, Washington and Washington State and others now competing alongside one another.
Michael Barrett, a national champion and captain at Michigan, is a linebacker for the St. Louis Battlehawks and played against now teammate and former Michigan State standout Mike Panasiuk, bringing the storied Michigan-Michigan State rivalry into the UFL. Cornell Powell, a two-time national champion at Clemson, is a receiver for the DC Defenders, where he shares a locker room with former LSU standout Micah Baskerville.
The Defenders also bring together quarterback Jason Bean and kicker Matt McCrane who are among five former Kansas and Kansas State players on the team, while Orlando includes former USC players Kana’i Mauga and Michael Lantz and former UCLA player Nate Meadors. Columbus features TCU alum Bless Harris alongside Baylor alumni Jalan McClendon and Henry Black. In Louisville, former Mississippi State and Ole Miss players — including Cameron Dantzler and former Rebels standout Mac Brown — now share a locker room after once competing in the Egg Bowl.
No UFL team has more than four alumni from a single college program, with the Dallas Renegades representing a league high of four players from Baylor. The representation reflects the depth and diversity of the UFL’s college football roots, with players from the nation’s most prominent programs spread across all eight teams.
They may be teammates now. They may share the same locker room and the same goals. But with college football returning, they’re still true to their school.
