Dallas Renegades Announce 2026 Coaching Staff, Training Camp Details

On the same day UFL training camp got underway, the league revealed the full coaching staff for the Dallas Renegades in 2026, along with details of training camp.

The Renegades will be practicing at Southlake Carroll Dragon Stadium in Southlake, Texas. Here is a closer look at Dallas's coaching staff.

2026 Dallas Renegades Coaching Staff

Rick Neuheisel, Head Coach

Neuheisel is better known for his time as a college head coach at Colorado, Washington, and UCLA. He finished his college coaching career with an 87-59 overall record, going 5-4 in bowl games, before waiting eight years to reach the professional level as the head coach of the Arizona Hotshots of the Alliance of American Football in 2019. He went 5-3 as the head coach before the league folded and helped spark the careers of quarterback John Wolford and linebacker Scooby Wright.

Noel Mazzone, Offensive Coordinator

Mazzone is better known for his work in recent years in spring football, but he has also served as an offensive coordinator at eight different Division I schools over the last three decades. While in spring football, Mazzone was the offensive coordinator for the New Orleans Breakers (2022), Pittsburgh Maulers (2023), and Memphis Showboats (2025).

Chris Reinert, Running Backs/Special Teams

Reinert was on Neuheisel's staff at UCLA as a graduate assistant in 2011, serving as a defensive back, but remained with the school through the 2013 season, even after Neuheisel departed in 2011. He was most recently the head coach at Servite, stepping down earlier this month.

Scott Spurrier, Tight Ends/Special Teams

Spurrier is the only remaining member of the original Renegades coaching staff, having spent several years with Dallas coaching their tight ends and special teams. He has done great work with the Renegades, helping get tight end Sal Cannella to the NFL, where he spent last year with the Cleveland Browns.

Xavier Su'a-Filio, Offensive Line

Su'a-Filio has landed his first coaching job after enjoying a seven-year NFL career playing for the Houston Texans, Tennessee Titans, Dallas Cowboys, and Cincinnati Bengals. Before his NFL career, Su'a-Filo played under Neuheisel at UCLA from 2009 to 2011, staying with the program through 2013, earning second-team All-American honors in 2013.

Mike Gillhamer, Defensive Coordinator

Gillhamer brings 15 years of NFL experience, having coached with the Carolina Panthers and Indianapolis Colts as a defensive coach, and was part of the New York Giants' Super Bowl XXXV coaching staff. Besides coaching at Louisville and Oregon in college, Gillahmer was previously an assistant under Neuheisel with the Hotshots.

Brian Baker, Defensive Line

While this is his first season with the Renegades, Baker returns to the UFL after coaching the Showboats' defensive line last year. Baker has over 40 years of coaching experience at the college and professional level, mostly as a defensive line coach.

Tim Hundley, Inside Linebacker

Hundley enters his first season with the Renegades, as most of his experience was in college. He was a defensive coordinator or defensive assistant for multiple schools, including SMU, UTEP, Washington, and UCLA. He has known Neuheisel for decades, as he served as his defensive coordinator with the Washington Huskies.

Kevin Wolthausen, Outside Linebacker

Wolthausen's coaching career dates back to the 1980s, during which he has mostly coached linebackers and defensive lines. He was a defensive coordinator for the Louisville Cardinals in 2006 and East Tennessee State in 2024.
