DC’s Defense Setting the Tone Across the UFL

Over the past three weeks, DC has started to hit its stride as we approach week 4. The main factor for this has been their defense and the rise of defensive coordinator Blake Williams. Defense Coordinator Blake Williams has built one of the most feared defenses in the UFL to date. They lead the UFL in several categories, such as sacks, tackles, and forced fumbles. In the past, the Defenders were known for their aggressive secondary and a front seven that could get after you on every snap. That philosophy seems to have continued into 2026, and it has blossomed for DC fans to see. Players like DE Derreck Roberson, who has been a bull on the edge, and a talented secondary that also includes players like DB Sam Kidd, CB Deandre Baker, CB Gareon Conley, and many more. This defense has proved that they can play with anyone. If the Defenders continue to play this style of defense, then it is safe to say that they will be a tough out when the playoffs begin.
