With both the UFL and NFL in their offseason lulls, it's the perfect time to dive into some offseason content. As the UFL awaits the next wave of NFL signings for the 2026 player acquisition cycle, we're taking a look back at how each NFL team has utilized spring football as a developmental pipeline during the modern era of spring football since 2022. We continue the series with the Jacksonville Jaguars, highlighting every spring league player the organization has signed over the past four years.
2022 Cycle:
Three members of the 2022 USFL would join Jacksonville with two of them serving with the team during the 2022 preseason. Kyle Sloter (New Orleans Breakers), who was released after the Hall of Fame game. The team signed Matthew Colburn (Philadelphia Stars), who was also released after one preseason game. Tucker Addington (Houston Gamblers), who would have two stints with the team, one in 2023 during training camp, and one in 2024 on their practice squad.
2023 Cycle:
In 2023, the Jaguars would sign one player from the XFL and two players from the USFL. Josh Pederson (Houston Gamblers), would join his father who at the time was the Head Coach of the Jaguars, spending 2023 through 2024 on their practice receiving three elevations appearing in three regular season games. E.J. Perry (Michigan Panthers), would join the team for the final months of the regular season on their practice squad during the 2023 season as well. From the XFL side Willie Taylor (Arlington Renegades) joined the team in May of 2023, spending training camp with the team before his release.
2024 Cycle:
In 2024, the Jaguars signed reigning defensive player of the year Breeland Speaks (Michigan Panthers), who’d be released at the conclusion of training camp. E.J. Perry (Michigan Panthers), would also return to the team playing in one preseason game with the team before his release at the conclusion of training camp.
2025 Cycle:
In 2025, the team signed two players from the UFL both of which are still on their roster going into the 2026 season. Ricky Lee (Arlington Renegades), spent the whole season on the practice squad with one elevation in which he appeared in one game. The team also rostered Keni-H Lovely (Michigan Panthers) who after being released by the Cardinals spent the season with the Jaguars on their practice squad.
The Jaguars have signed eight players over the last five seasons. As of right now Josh Pederson seems to be the most notable player with his three game appearances in 2023, the team has two players on the roster that could provide value this upcoming season. The team has yet to sign any players from the UFL so far this signing cycle so far. UFL to NFL signings will continue once the teams begin training camp, later in July.
