It was bound to happen, but the first domino has fallen for the Dallas Renegades as one of their top players is officially headed to the NFL.
ProFootballTalk was the first to report that the Philadelphia Eagles are signing Renegades cornerback Shaun Wade. In 2026, Wade racked up 24 tackles, nine pass deflections, three interceptions, and a forced fumble in eight games. Wade had worked out with the Chicago Bears and the New York Jets since the season ended.
Wade was a former fifth-round pick of the Baltimore Ravens in 2021. He's played for four NFL teams prior to the Eagles as he racked up 26 tackles, two tackles for loss, and one pass deflection in 20 games.
Renegades CB Shaun Wade is off to Philly to join the Eagles
It's the first name for the Renegades to find a new home from Dallas as he heads to a new team. He joins an already elite secondary that includes All-Pros Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean.
This is a big moment for the Renegades as they lose their first defensive player. While this unit was inconsistent throughout the season, Wade was one of its bright spots, as he was among the best in the UFL in pass deflections.
Wade certainly won't be the last Renegades player to head elsewhere in the NFL, as others will follow suit. There might be more offensive players than defenders, but guys like Tyler Vaughns, Willie Taylor, Denzel Mims, and Dae Dae Hunter might get some looks. Mims and Hunter have already gotten their own workouts.
Renegades fans will have another reason to cheer for Wade in the upcoming preseason as he proves his worth with the Eagles. Expect more names from the 2026 squad to land on other NFL teams soon.
