Below are five options the Renegades could consider for their final QB position.
1. Jackson Waring Grandview University
Waring is gaining CFL interest right now, however, is an NFL hopeful as draft day is set to begin tonight. Waring could give the Renegades an option to run a lot of change of pace read option sets, possibly taking additional "hits" off Austin Reed's body. Waring has won two national championships at the NAIA level, including two player of the year honors as well. He's a proven winner with pro-level size, and speed that could make an impact in the UFL.
2. Mike Hohensee NW Missouri State
Hohensee had a cup of tea with the San Antonio Brahmas in 2025, and is still training for a professional opportunity. Hohensee was a record setting QB at NW Missouri State, and has many of the tools needed to succeed in the UFL.
3. Jarrett Guarantano Washington State
With Perez traded, Guarantano will give the Renegades a reserve QB with plenty of experience since coming out of college in 2022. He's spent time with the Roughnecks, and Brahmas including time in the preseason with the Arizona Cardinals. His experience allows the Renegades to have a quarterback with live reps in their room in case Reed or QB2 Luke Lehnen goes down with an injury.
4. Colby Suits Houston Christian
Suits had a cameo with the Michigan Panthers in 2025, finishing the season with the team due to injuries. Suits spent time with the NY Jets in 2024, and with him being a local option could be a quick signing to assist the Renegades strengthen their local ties.
5. Alan Bowman Oklahoma State
Bowman is another veteran with ties to the local area, that provided a last second cameo for the Michigan Panthers and San Antonio Brahmas towards the end of the season. He could serve as a temporary option once the fallout from the UDFA signings of the 2026 NFL draft end.
