UFL owner Mike Repole said the St. Louis Battlehawks would play four straight home games followed by five straight road games in 2027 under the dates the Dome at America's Center has offered. He posted the details on X this week and said the league will explore all options in St. Louis.
Repole wrote that the league held meetings this week on the business and football operations sides as it prepares for 2027. He said the league presented stadium availability for all eight UFL teams. Seven venues offered flexibility. St. Louis did not.
"Based on the BattleDome dates currently available, the Battlehawks would play FOUR straight home games, followed by FIVE consecutive road games, and potentially return home for Week 10," Repole posted. "Sorry, but that just DOESN'T WORK FOR US!!!!"
What Repole said about the Dome
Repole said the league is not leaving the Dome. He said he has a responsibility as an owner to look at every option in St. Louis.
"As a UFL owner, I have a responsibility to explore ALL options in St. Louis that might provide better dates, more flexibility, and a more collaborative partnership," he wrote. "That doesn't mean we're leaving the BattleDome. It means we're going to explore every opportunity to make the experience BETTER for our fans."
He also put the burden on the league itself. "We need to work together with our stadium partners, and we also need to challenge ourselves as a league to do better," he wrote.
Repole closed the post by asking Battlehawks fans and UFL fans for ideas and suggestions.
Repole has raised the St. Louis venue question before
This is not the first time Repole has talked about where the Battlehawks play. In February, St. Louis Public Radio's Jonathan Ahl reported that Repole suggested the team consider a move to Energizer Park, the 22,000-seat home of St. Louis City SC. Repole said at the time that talks with City SC were preliminary. Head coach Ricky Proehl said the team could fill the Dome and that the tailgating outside the building would be hard to replicate at a smaller venue.
The Battlehawks played all five 2026 regular season home games and one playoff game at the Dome. Attendance for the five regular season dates was 31,191, 20,209, 18,563, 21,609 and 24,621. The semifinal loss to Louisville on June 7 drew 18,111.
In August, Repole told Sports Business Journal that St. Louis attendance fell 21 percent to an average of 23,257 in 2026. Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio reported that Repole said he owed St. Louis and D.C. an apology after the league shifted resources to new markets. Repole said the league would add local staff, payroll, interns, agencies and field marketing in both cities. UFL News Hub covered that apology and the attendance drop at the time.
The 2027 draft is set for St. Louis
Repole pointed to the UFL Draft as the first step in his promise to do more in St. Louis. The 2027 UFL Draft is set for November 18 at Ballpark Village. The draft airs live on NFL Network at 8 p.m. ET. The Battlehawks hold the No. 5 overall pick.
The team put 2027 season tickets on sale October 15. The release lists five home games at the Dome at America's Center. Fans who buy by November 1 are entered in a drawing to announce the team's second-round pick at the draft.
In his post, Repole said the 2027 plan includes better planning, better partnerships, more marketing and more transparency. He said St. Louis fans arrive early, stay late and travel, and that he saw it at the Dome and when Battlehawks fans traveled to Louisville. St. Louis won at Louisville 16-3 on April 30 in front of 10,456 fans. Our 2026 Battlehawks coverage has the full season results.
