With NFL cut day coming and going several UFL alumni saw their NFL careers come to an end this past weekend, 126 spring football members participated in the 2026 NFL training camp so far this year.
After the NFL's initial cut down to 53 on the active roster, 22 spring football members are currently rostered whether it be on the active roster or injured reserve. Several UFL alumni are currently going through waivers in which they could revert to injured reserve allowing them to remain with their respective NFL team for the 2026.
Below is a breakdown of the recent "fall out" of the UFL signing cycles and beyond.
UFL 2026 Class
Signed: 75
Active Roster:2
Ameer Speed and Tay Martin earn 53-man roster spots as the league continues to cement itself as a viable option.
Waived/Injured Reserve: 7

Practice squad additions can begin at 1:00 p.m. Eastern Time on the Monday following final roster cuts. Over the past several years 20 to 25 players from the latest UFL signing cycle. Several insiders have announced various UFL players are candidates to rejoin their team at a later time as well.
UFL 2025 Class
Signed: 64
Active Roster: 3
Jacob Saylors, Harrison Mevis, and Jayden Price all earned their way on NFL rosters this season, with Price in line to maker his NFL debut. 10 additional members of the 2025 signing class were released at the conclusion of training camp.
Several players like Garrett Nelson (Brahmas 25'), Kyler Baugh (Battlehawks 25'), and Nick Whiteside (Battlehawks 25') remain high level priorities to practice squads around the NFL.
Waived/Injured Reserve:
Barry Wesley starts his 2nd consecutive season on injured reserve. This is Wesley's 3rd season in the NFL post his time in spring football.
UFL 2024 Class:
Signed: 75
Active Roster: 7
Andre Smyzt, Rex Sunahara, Dondrea Tillman, Jake Bates, and Jalen Redmond all return to their NFL teams dating back to 2024, and could become vested NFL veterans after three games of service this year. Joining them for the first time will be Kohl Levao (Jets), and Kevin Austin (Saints) will find a spot for themselves on the 53-man roster as teams open up camp.
Adrian Martinez and WR Brandon Smith were the only two members of the 2024 class to be released, with both players being candidates for a practice squad opportunity.
Waived/Injured Reserve:
Jonathan Garvin will begin the season on injured reserve, in his 3rd post-UFL season.
XFL and USFL 2023 Class:
Signed: 42 (USFL) 69 (XFL)-111 total
Active Roster: 4
Brandon Aubrey, and Daniel Whelan remain at the top of the special teams' leaderboards with both players earning extensions. Chris Blair and LaCale London will open up the season on the Falcons 53-man roster going into year four.
Waived/Injured Reserve:
D.J. Montgomery remains with the Colts, however, will start the season on injured reserve for the second consecutive season.
USFL
Signed: 59
Active Roster: 2
Tucker Addington and KaVontae Turpin both remain with their respective NFL teams. While Mitch Fraboni was released the team will elevate him from the practice squad for three weeks prior to signing him to the active roster. Jeremiah Pharms and Maurice Alexander were released and remain candidates for practice squads.
With practice squad signings beginning on Monday August 31st, more opportunities will be granted for several spring football players who will make impacts later in the season.
