The San Antonio Brahmas are making moves to follow up their 2024 defensive success with an upgraded roster that will help them maintain the expectation of an elite defense. Last week, the Brahmas announced that they had re-signed defensive lineman Prince Emili back to their roster after he had spent time with the Atlanta Falcons during the 2024 NFL season. As a follow-up, the Brahmas have added another player with NFL experience by signing former Cleveland Browns cornerback Greedy Williams.
A press release from the UFL announces that Greedy Williams has found a home in the UFL with the San Antonio Brahmas.
During the 2019 NFL Draft, the Cleveland Browns selected Williams in the 2nd round with the 46th pick in the draft. Williams had become a standout defender while playing for the LSU Tigers, and he looked to start his career in the NFL after leaving college after his junior season. While playing for the Browns, Williams appeared in 39 games from 2019 until 2022, and he recorded two interceptions, 78 solo tackles, 21 assisted tackles, deflected 12 passes, and forced one fumble. After Williams’s success, he left the Browns in free agency, and the Philadelphia Eagles signed Williams for the 2023 season, but later the Eagles released Williams.
The 6’2″, 185-pound Williams is a native of Shreveport, Louisiana. Williams had an outstanding career in college while playing for the LSU Tigers and was considered a valuable draft prospect after playing in 24 games for the Tigers from 2016 until 2018. During his career at LSU, Williams intercepted seven passes and recorded 29 solo tackles and 22 assisted tackles. During the 2017 and 2018 seasons, Williams was a first-team All-SEC player, and in 2018, Williams was an All-American for the Tigers.
