After leading the San Diego Strike Force to the best regular season in franchise history and the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference, Taylor Genuser has been named the 2026 IFL Coach of the Year.
The Indoor Football League is proud to announce San Diego Strike Force Head Coach Taylor Genuser as the 2026 IFL Coach of the Year.
Genuser led the Strike Force to their best season in franchise history in 2026, finishing the regular season with a 13-3 record and securing the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference.
Under Genuser, San Diego established itself as one of the most complete teams in the IFL. The Strike Force finished the regular season with one of the league's top offenses while complementing that production with a defense that consistently created problems for opposing teams.
San Diego's 13 victories set a new franchise record and earned the Strike Force home-field advantage throughout the Western Conference playoffs. The regular-season success also brought the first home playoff game in franchise history to San Diego.
The 2026 season continued the progress the Strike Force have made under Genuser. San Diego earned its first playoff berth in 2024, returned to the postseason in 2025 and followed with its first No. 1 seed in 2026.
Genuser's leadership has helped turn that steady progress into the most successful season in franchise history, earning him 2026 IFL Coach of the Year honors.
