The Orlando Pirates are keeping Rod Windsor at the helm, extending their Head Coach for the 2027 IFL season.
The Orlando Pirates have extended Head Coach Rod Windsor for the 2027 Indoor Football League season after Windsor guided the Pirates to a playoff appearance in his first season as a head coach.
Windsor began the 2026 season as Orlando's Offensive Coordinator, with the Pirates averaging 45 points per game while winning their first two contests. On April 11, Windsor was elevated to Head Coach, becoming the 10th head coach in Pirates history and replacing Rob Keefe.
Windsor went on to guide Orlando to a 10-6 regular-season record and a playoff berth in his rookie campaign as a head coach.
Offensively, the Pirates established themselves as one of the IFL's most productive units under Windsor. Across 17 games, Orlando averaged 50.6 points per game, ranking third in the league.
During the regular season, the Pirates finished third in the IFL with 2,854 passing yards and averaged 178.4 passing yards per game, also ranking third. Orlando finished fourth in total offense with 3,990 yards and averaged 249.4 yards per game, fourth-best in the league.
The success also translated into individual recognition, with several Pirates earning postseason honors following the 2026 season.
With Windsor extended through 2027, Orlando will look to build on a 10-win season and postseason appearance as he enters his second season leading the Pirates.
