It's now been a week since the 2026 UFL season has ended with 23 players from the league having been signed to NFL teams, which is great news, but a lot more to be desired by UFL fans.
There is still over a month before NFL training camps begin, so there's plenty of time for more teams to sign UFL players. This is a quiet period with some workouts will happen, but most teams are on vacation before setting themselves up with a grueling next six to seven months of work.
UFL fans will notice that there are plenty of talented guys from the league still not signed onto NFL teams. Who are the biggest surprises that have not signed that the National Football League can no longer ignore?
UFL Players Who Haven't Signed With an NFL Team (But Should Be)
Chris Rowland, Orlando Storm WR
It is borderline criminal that Rowland is not on an NFL roster after everything he has done over the years in spring football. He was fourth in the UFL in receiving yards with 529 and scored five touchdowns. He was also big on special teams as he was seventh in the league in kickoff return yards (377) and punt return yards (132).
Rowland is an electric player with the ball in his hands and can do it all from being a reliable third down receiver to using his speed to return kickoffs. The NFL should not be sleeping in him as he can be a valuable asset to any roster and not just as a camp body, but can legitimately make a 53-man roster.
Jack Plummer, Orlando Storm QB
What an even bigger shocker that it was Houston Gamblers quarterback Hunter Dekkers getting an NFL contract first over Plummer, you know, the UFL MVP. Plummer led the UFL in passing yards with 2,188 yards and had 17 passing scores and just one interception, by far the best TD to INT ratio in the league.
It's really only a matter of time before Plummer gets a call to an NFL team. He might have to wait for an injury, as bad as it is to say, but someone is going to give him a call eventually.
Cam Gill, Louisville Kings EDGE
The man who broke the UFL sack record in a season really doesn't have a home yet, which is a stunner. Gill had 10 sacks and added 12 tackles for loss, which also led the league.
There really shouldn't be any excuses for Gill to not have signed an NFL contract as the UFL has not had a pass rusher like him before. Hopefully one NFL team will wise up and get him signed ASAP.
Derick Roberson, DC Defenders EDGE
Speaking of edge rushers who are getting ignored by the NFL, what about Roberson? He was one of the top pass rushers in the league as the All-UFL selection had seven sacks and nine tackles for loss for the United Bowl runner ups.
Roberson is a prototypical NFL pass rusher who should be on a roster by now. It feels because he is 30, his time might have passed, but he is playing even better now than he did five years ago, so he should be given another shot at the NFL.
D.J. Miller Jr., Columbus Aviators CB
There have been five Columbus Aviators who have been signed to NFL teams already. Another Aviator, D.J. Miller Jr., should also be getting looks as well. Miller was tied for the UFL lead in pass deflections with 12 and nabbed three interceptions on the season.
In 2026, Miller was one of the most consistent cornerbacks in the league and was all over the place with swatting passes down and playing tough coverage. He should be signed by a team in the NFL and get a shot at making the roster.
