With three weeks to go in the season, the Battlehawks have made another tweak to their offense moving forward. The team announced that quarterback Michael Pratt has been waived as the team prepares for their playoff push, and their matchup against the Houston Gamblers.
Pratt was originally selected by the Battlehawks in the UFL's quarterback allotment in January. He'd eventually opt to not report to training camp, leading to the team opting to sign Harrison Frost. In mid-March Pratt rejoined the Battlehawks as their QB3 with the team ultimately releasing Ben Wooldridge.
Pratt would be inactive for most of St. Louis' games this season however would make his professional football debut in week four of the season. Pratt would rush twice for 8 yards but would injure his prompting the team to trade for Luis Perez.
Pratt's release does bring to light the UFL's strict roster policy. With the release of Pratt due to injury, it appears that the team was unable/chose not to place him on injured reserve in which the Battlehawks have four members of the team placed on already. Pratt is now a free agent and could provide value to a playoff bound UFL team if healthy, and a team gets hit with an injury. He is also currently on the Edmonton Elks negotiation list as well.
