Even with training camp underway across the UFL, there is no rest for the Dallas Renegades, who continue to add talent to the roster.
Per the UFL Communication Department X account, the Renegades have added defensive tackle Kevin Strong to the roster. Strong attended UTSA from 2014 through 2018, where he was a second-team All-Conference USA selection before going undrafted to the Detroit Lions in the NFL.
Strong enjoyed a six-year NFL career playing for four teams, including the Lions, Tennessee Titans, Arizona Cardinals, and Los Angeles Rams. In 50 career games, Strong racked up 93 tackles, six tackles for loss, five quarterback hits, four pass deflections, 3.5 sacks, and one fumble recovery.
Dallas Renegades Add Kevin Strong
This will be an interesting situation, as Strong has not played football in nearly two years since he was last with the Rams in 2024, but the talent is there. That was clearly shown in the NFL, where he has plenty of experience, but more importantly, there is some flexibility with Strong, as he can play tackle and rush off the edge.
Strong joins a solid defensive tackle position group that has Antwaun Jackson, Darrius Moragne, Chace Davis, DaMarcus Mitchell, and Domenique Davis. Guys like Moragne and Jackson will have the edge in starting since they have more UFL experience and have previously played and/or started in games.
Dallas's biggest question mark going into the UFL season was how they would look on defense. They already lost Chris Odom, who did not return to the league, so there were concerns about addressing the front four heading into training camp.
With the addition of Strong, the defensive line improved, and more experience is now in the tackle position. The difficult part for him now is that he is coming into camp a few days late, but he should still be able to catch up quickly and potentially make the final roster with a few weeks of good work to put on the practice field.
