Jack Plummer Credits 'Football Gods' for Historic 15-1 TD Ratio as Orlando Storm Eyes Playoff Revenge

Jack Plummer isn't one to take all the credit. The Orlando Storm quarterback sat down with reporters this week sporting a jaw-dropping 15-1 touchdown-to-interception ratio — the kind of numbers that make MVP voters take notice. But when asked about his remarkable season, Plummer pointed skyward.

"I think the ball's bounced my way a little bit, which is nice," Plummer said. "I feel like the football gods have blessed me a little bit, getting lucky with guys dropping some, which has been really nice."

Coach's Bold MVP Declaration

Orlando head coach Anthony Becht didn't hide behind diplomatic coach-speak earlier this week, flat-out declaring Plummer the league MVP. When asked what that endorsement means, Plummer kept his focus razor-sharp on team goals.

"Obviously it'd be a great honor, it'd be super cool to have, and it's one of those things where it is an individual award, but I think it does reflect a lot on the team you're playing on and the guys around you," Plummer said. "I'm not super focused on that. That wasn't really one of my goals coming into the year. It's a nice little bonus, cherry on top."

The numbers tell the story of a quarterback who's taken care of the football while putting up points. That 15-1 ratio would be impressive in any league — in a developmental circuit where mistakes often get magnified, it's borderline historic.

DC Rematch Looms Large

Orlando's Week 10 finale brings a juicy subplot: a rematch with the DC Defenders, the same team the Storm eliminated from playoff contention last week. Plummer expects the defending UFL champions to come out swinging on their home turf.

"They definitely play with a little scrappiness and a little edge to them, and they like to toe the line, you know, they like to push your buttons a little bit," Plummer explained. "So we just gotta be able to keep our composure and not play into their games."

The Storm torched DC for a fast start in their previous meeting, with Plummer finding Chris Rowland for an early touchdown that set the tone. Now they'll face an angry Defenders squad with nothing left to lose.

Building the Storm Brand

After last week's victory, Plummer stayed on the field long after the final whistle, signing autographs for a line of young fans. It wasn't a publicity stunt — it was a quarterback understanding his role in building something from scratch.

"I was a kid one time, you know, and it's just the littlest thing of like getting a guy's autograph was the coolest thing ever," Plummer said. "Hopefully that gets them to want to come back and try to build this thing up as a new franchise."

Orlando is one of three brand-new UFL franchises this season, meaning everything from team culture to fan loyalty had to be constructed in real time. Those autograph sessions aren't just nice gestures — they're investments in the future.

Development in Action

The UFL markets itself as a developmental league, and Plummer embodies that mission. Asked what he's improved most this season, his answer revealed the kind of growth that only comes with meaningful reps.

"I think just find a way to get completions," Plummer said. "There may be times where a play isn't going exactly how you want it to go. Maybe you're not throwing it to your number 1 or number 2 receiver, but hey, let's get it to the running back."

He continued: "I feel like I've done a better job of that. And that just comes with game reps. Those are invaluable reps. And it's something that I haven't had a lot of in the past 2 years, just being a third-string quarterback in the NFL."

Nine full games of starting experience beats riding the bench in the NFL every time. Plummer's learned to trust what he sees rather than forcing predetermined reads — the kind of adjustment that separates good quarterbacks from great ones.

Playoff Message for Stormtroopers

Orlando's playoff berth is locked up, but Plummer had a simple message for the Storm faithful heading into the postseason.

"We're gonna come into the playoffs hungry and we're coming to win," he declared. "It'll be something you want to tune into for sure."

With his historic season and the Storm's remarkable first-year success, Plummer has every reason to feel confident about what lies ahead in Orlando's inaugural playoff run.
