Michigan Panthers Punter Seth Vernon Earns Contract with Miami Dolphins, becomes 63rd member of 2025 UFL Signing Class

While the 2026 UFL season is set to kick off in two weeks, one member of the UFL who wasn't drafted had his football career extended by an NFL team, this Friday. After going undrafted during the 2026 UFL draft, former Michigan Panthers Punter Seth Vernon was signed by the Miami Dolphins, as the team prepares for their upcoming offseason. Vernon, who spent one season with the Panthers, is the 63rd member of the 2025 UFL to NFL signing class to earn a contract.

Vernon played collegiately at Portland State (FCS) from 2019-21, averaging 44.6 yards per punt before he signed with the Atlanta Falcons as an undrafted free agent in 2022. He also spent time with the Minnesota Vikings and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. This past season with Michigan Vernon punted 23 times for a 45.4-yard average with eight punts landing inside the 20-yard line. Currently he is one of 16 UFL players from the 2025 class on an NFL offseason roster.

Joining Vernon in Miami, is former Houston Gamblers Long Snapper (USFL 2022), Tucker Addington. Addington has been on and off NFL rosters since leaving the USFL appearing in 10 NFL games in his career. Most recently Addington spent part of training camp with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Both spring football alums are currently the only players at them with the Dolphins not having an additional Punter or Long Snapper on the roster. With the success of spring football specialist transitioning to the NFL, Vernon may be able to join Daniel Whelan and other specialist who have earned over $100 million dollars since 2019.
