As all eight UFL teams prepare to start training camp for the 2026 season on Thursday, the teams are still making adjustments to their rosters and coaching staff. For the Orlando Storm, the latest roster change is the removal of former San Antonio Brahmas running back Jashaun Corbin and the addition of former Florida State and New York Jets running back Lawrence Toafill. While Corbin came to the Storm with valuable UFL experience, Toafili should fit in well with the rest of the running backs currently on the Storm roster.
The addition of Toafili to the Storm roster was announced by UFL insider James Larsen.
For the Storm, the move from Corbin to Toafili is just a matter of switching out former Florida State Seminoles running backs. Toafill comes to the UFL after spending time with the New York Jets practice squad during the 2025 NFL season. Starting on Thursday, Toafili will need to hit the ground running to earn a spot on the Storm's 2026 roster.
The Storm's offense, based on head coach Anthony Becht's playbook with the Saint Louis Battlehawks, will feature a power running game complemented by a heavy play-action passing game off that rushing attack. While playing college football at Florida State from 2020 until 2024, Toafili appeared in 55 games and ran the ball 340 times for 1,895 yards along with 15 rushing touchdowns. In addition, Toafili was an effective receiver out of the backfield, catching 92 passes for 904 yards and scoring 4 receiving touchdowns.
