Orlando Storm Release Two Defensive Lineman, Add DE Chris Collins

The Orlando Storm are preparing to enter their final week of training camp for the 2026 UFL season. At the conclusion of training camp UFL teams, including the Orlando Storm will need to cut their roster down to 50 players. However, the Storm have already started making personnel adjustments before they need to make their official roster cuts.

Earlier this week, the Storm made the decision to release defensive ends T.J. Pesefea Jr. and Maximilian Roberts. The removal of those two players from the Orlando training camp roster, created opportunities for other players looking to make a splash like defensive end Chris Collins. The UFL announced that the Orlando Storm signed Chris Collins, and Collins versatility makes him an ideal player to add due to his ability to play outside linebacker and defensive end.

The 6'5", 255-pound defensive end Chris Collins comes to the UFL after spending the 2024 NFL season with the Los Angeles Chargers. Collins has an impressive physical frame, and long arms that give him a significant advantage when it comes to defeating blocks by offensive players. When playing in a 3-4 defense, Collins has the ability to play outside linebacker, and brings impressive intensity when blitzing, and in a 4-3 defense he would best be suited to play as a traditional defensive end position.

During his college football career, Collins played five seasons at the University of North Carolina from 2018 until 2022. While playing for the Tarheels, Collins played in 47 games and recorded 34 solo tackles, 35 assists, and 6.5 quarterback sacks. After the 2022 season, Collins transferred to the University of Minnesota where he played in 12 games and registered 9 solo tackles, 9 assists, and 1 interception.

Offensive Tackle Teton Saltes Retires

Former Saint Louis Battlehawks offensive tackle Teton Saltes has made the decision to retire from professional football. During the last two UFL seasons, Saltes has struggled with injuries, and over the course of the last two seasons Saltes has only played in 2 games. The Orlando Storm had the opportunity to claim Saltes due to the connection between head coach Anthony Becht and Saltes. Rather than finish training camp, Saltes chose to bring his career at the professional level to an end.
