As the Orlando Storm works to evaluate and assess players heading into their first official UFL season in 2026, the Storm continues to make roster adjustments. In particular the Storm seem to have some stability issues at the running back position. Last week, the Storm announced that they were releasing former San Antonio Brahmas running back Jashaun Corbin to add running back Lawrance Toafili. However, Toafili suddenly made the decision to retire from football creating a hold in the Storm roster.
Therefore with Toafili not on the Storm roster, it makes sense for Orlando to add back running back Jashaun Corbin. Corbin brings a local connection to the Orlando after playing college football at Florida State University. In addition, during the 2025 UFL season, Corbin had an All-UFL performance with 514 rushing yards and 4 rushing touchdowns along with 135 receiving yards.

Corbin provides the Orlando Storm with his good vision especially when it comes to finding the seams in the defense in the zone running game on offense. In addition, Corbin has a strong lower body and a low center of mass which makes him hard to tackle especially in short yardage situations. Along with being solid threat in the running game, Corbin also has the ability to be effective in pass protection and catch passes out of the backfield making him and every down back for Orlando.
DT T.J. Smith Prepares to Make An Impact in the UFL
The addition of defensive tackle T.J. Smith on the Storm's defensive line could be a recipe for dominance for Orlando on the defensive side of the ball. Smith has spent the last five seasons on the practice squad for several NFL teams including the Los Angeles Chargers, Minnesota Vikings, Carolina Panthers, and the Tennessee Titans. While Smith has spent most of his time in the NFL on practice squad rosters, he has had a few opportunities to make a different on the field having appeared in eight games during his NFL career.

Smith's 6'3", 300-pound frame makes him a prototypical to step in and become a dominant nose tackle for the Storm's defense. With his big body and strength, Smith is a legitimate space eater and has the ability to shut down the run game of opponents in the middle of the defense. In addition, Smith has experience playing in many different defensive fronts, and he has built a reputation for playing with a high-motor particularly when it comes to stopping the run.
