As the NFL season continues to move forward several teams have begun their "roster gymnastics" due to injuries, trades, and ineffectiveness. With teams beginning their reevaluation of their rosters two more UFL alumni will joining NFL franchises in hopes of cementing themselves in the league. Early Wednesday morning the Vikings announced that they are signing Orlando Storm EDGE rusher Keshawn Banks, while the Detroit Lions will be signings Wide Receiver Lawerence Keys III.
Banks joins the Vikings after being waived with an injury settlement from the Atlanta Falcons ($90k per spotrac). Banks now joins Kenny Dyson (Houston Gamblers) who also was signed to the Vikings practice squad the day prior. Banks had a successful spring season with the 23 tackles and 5.0 sacks. The Vikings who are dealing with a slew of injuries signed an additional five players to their practice squad, while also trading J.J. McCarthy, and placing players on injured reserve.
Also rejoining an NFL team is Houston Gamblers Wide Receiver Lawerence Keys. Keys was originally signed by the Lions after the 2026 UFL season, however was waived in August due to an injury. Keys totaled almost 350 receiving yards and two touchdowns in 2026 for Houston which was his second season with the team. Keys now joins Jacob Saylors, Tay Martin, Jake Bates, Thomas Gordon, and Nick Whiteside as spring football members on the Lions currently. The Lions have yet to announce a corresponding move.
With the signing of Banks and Keys, 53 members of spring football leagues (dating back to the AAF 2019) are currently rostered on NFL teams going into week four. The 2026 UFL to NFL signing class has seen 21 members earn an NFL paycheck (per spotrac and over the cap), whether it be on the Active Roster, Practice Squad, or an injury settlement. The 2026 UFL to NFL signing class has seen 75 players earn NFL contract, with 125 earning a total of 216 workouts.
