Storm Haven't 'Scratched the Surface' Despite Perfect 4-0 Start, Says Jack Plummer

The Orlando Storm might be the only undefeated team in the UFL, but quarterback Jack Plummer believes they're nowhere near their ceiling. Despite sitting pretty at 4-0, Plummer echoed his coach's assessment that this team has barely tapped into its potential.

"We haven't scratched the surface yet of how good our team can be," Plummer said during Monday's press conference. "We're leaving a lot of plays out there, especially as an offense, where we could really be blowing these games open."

Chemistry Building With Offensive Coordinator

The Storm's aerial attack has opened up considerably over the past two weeks, and Plummer credits his growing relationship with offensive coordinator Colin Thompson for the improved production. The quarterback spoke glowingly about their working relationship.

"Colin's great. I love working with him every day. He makes coming to the office super fun, and me and him have built a great relationship and trust factor," Plummer explained. "He trusts me to take care of the ball and get us into the right play."

That trust has translated into more downfield opportunities for Plummer, who admitted he enjoys "chunking the ball down the field a little bit." The offense has become noticeably more explosive in recent weeks, with Plummer's mobility adding another dimension.

Red Zone Struggles Still Nagging

For all their success, the Storm haven't been perfect where it matters most. Plummer acknowledged the team's red zone execution remains a work in progress, something they'll emphasize heading into this weekend.

"We've kind of struggled a little bit in the red zone this year, and that's something we're going to really emphasize," he said. "We got to score touchdowns down there."

The field compression near the goal line presents unique challenges for both passing and running attacks, but Plummer believes better preparation will solve those issues. "I think we'll have a better plan going into the game this week and how we want to attack the red zone."

Banks Preaches Faith and Opportunity

While Plummer focuses on offensive improvements, defensive leader Keshawn Banks brings a different perspective to the team's success. The pass rusher, who leads the UFL in sacks, sees divine purpose in the Storm's journey.

"We all have divine purpose, and this may not be where everybody wants to be, or this may not be what our goals and aspirations are, but this is the opportunity we have," Banks told reporters. "Without this, I don't know where you would be."

Banks leads the team's pregame prayer and believes his faith drives everything he does on the field. His partnership with Chris Garrett has created one of the league's most feared pass-rushing duos, with Banks crediting their ability to "play fast, play free."

UFL Talent Level Rising

The Storm aren't just succeeding in a weak league—Banks believes the competition has never been better. Having taken over a year off before joining Orlando, he's been impressed by what he's seen across the UFL.

"The level of talent that's in the league this year has definitely gone up," Banks observed. "No knock on the previous years and the guys who helped build this, but the level of talent is good."

That rising tide of talent makes the Storm's undefeated record even more impressive, though both Plummer and Banks seem focused on what lies ahead rather than celebrating what they've accomplished.

The growing crowds—Plummer noted Birmingham "sectioned off one end, so it really looked pretty full"—add to the sense that the UFL is building something special. But for a Storm team that believes it hasn't scratched the surface, the real test comes in proving they can maintain this standard while finding another gear when it matters most.
