-Two-Time CSFL Offensive Player of the Year Cahsid Raymond Joins Dallas Renegades
-2025 Cliff Harris Award Winner John Sullivan Heads to St. Louis Battlehawks
ARLINGTON, Texas (October 1, 2026) – Two players who participated in recent 2026 UFL Showcases have earned opportunities to continue their professional football careers, with wide receiver Cahsid Raymond receiving an invitation to training camp with the Dallas Renegades and defensive tackle John Sullivan earning an invitation with the St. Louis Battlehawks.
Raymond, who also played quarterback at Mansfield University, participated in the UFL Showcase in Washington, D.C. in August, while Sullivan took part in the St. Louis event later that month. Both players had the opportunity to perform in front of head coaches and league personnel.
“These invitations highlight the purpose of the UFL Showcase Series,” said David Dykeman, UFL Senior Vice President of Football Operations & Chief of Staff. “We want to provide players who may not have been seen elsewhere, or who simply need another opportunity, the chance to perform in front of UFL head coaches and football personnel and compete for an invitation to training camp.”
In 2026, 48 players who previously participated in UFL Showcase events earned invitations to UFL training camps, and 39 ultimately appeared on active rosters. All eight UFL teams had at least two Showcase participants on their roster during the 2026 season.
That impact can be seen in players such as quarterback Chandler Rogers and defensive lineman Travis Bell, who became Louisville Kings teammates after earning opportunities through the Showcase process and helped lead the team to a United Bowl championship in their inaugural campaign. Bell later earned an opportunity to compete in an NFL training camp. St. Louis Battlehawks wide receiver Steven McBride and Columbus Aviators quarterback Jalen Morton also became significant UFL contributors after earning opportunities through the Showcase Series.
Raymond brings an unusual combination of football experience and athletic ability to the Renegades. A 6-foot-3 product of Philadelphia, Raymond played quarterback at Mansfield University while also contributing as a receiver and establishing himself as one of the school’s top track athletes.
A two-time CSFL Offensive Player of the Year, Raymond finished his Mansfield career with more than 3,700 passing yards, 2,700 rushing yards and 60 total touchdowns. He also established himself as a standout sprinter, winning the 2025 PSAC 200-meter championship and earning Co-PSAC Most Valuable Athlete honors. In 2026, he ran a Mansfield-record 20.91 in the 200 meters and set school records in the 60-meter dash and long jump.
“When a player like Cashid Raymond is presented to you, you have to recognize that kind of talent,” said new Dallas Renegades Head Coach Kevin Sumlin. “This league is all about opportunity, and I’m looking forward to seeing Cashid come into camp. He has the height and speed we are looking for. I’m anxious to see how he competes at this level.”
Sullivan arrives in St. Louis following a decorated career at North Central College, where he developed into one of the nation's top small-college defensive linemen.
The 6-foot-2, 270-pound defensive tackle was named the 2025 Cliff Harris Award winner, recognizing the top defensive player in Division II, Division III and NAIA football. He also earned First-Team All-America honors from D3football.com, the AFCA and the Associated Press after recording 73 tackles, 22 tackles for loss and eight sacks in 15 games during his senior season.
Sullivan finished his North Central career with 39.5 tackles for loss and was a two-time CCIW Defensive Player of the Year.
“The combination of John’s size and short-area quickness really stood out,” said St. Louis Battlehawks Head Coach Ricky Proehl. “His ability to change direction should translate well and give us another guy who can create pressure from the interior. I’m excited to see him compete in camp and see what he can do.”
The UFL will conduct its next two Showcase events on Sunday, October 4, at Ohio Dominican University in Columbus, Ohio, and Sunday, October 11, at Georgia State University in Atlanta, providing additional opportunities for players to compete in front of UFL personnel.
