UFL to NFL Update: UFL surpasses 10 tryouts ahead of championship game

UFL players have begun to garner interest as the league enters the first round of the playoffs this weekend. While the league has plenty of talent on the rosters of playoff teams, many players on eliminated teams have begun to workout for teams in hopes of extending their football career or kickstarting their football careers. Last year the UFL saw over 60 players earn NFL contracts, with 75 earning contracts in 2024. UFL players are eligible to sign with NFL teams once the 2026 UFL championship is complete.

So far 13 UFL players have earned 15 workouts since the completion of the regular season.

Orlando Storm

Josh Minkins becomes the 1st member of the Orlando Storm to earn an NFL opportunity, working out for the UFL friendly Broncos. Minkins appeared in 7 games this year starting two.

Houston Gamblers

After a three-season hiatus from spring football, the former Michigan Panther joined the Houston Gamblers during the middle of the season, serving primarily as a special teams returner. Davis spent three seasons on multiple NFL teams rosters, and will look to add the NY Jets to his latest list of employment. The Gamblers will also see Jah Joyner work out for the Steelers as well. Joyner had originally been with the Dallas Renegades, being claimed on waivers by the Gamblers prior to the season.

Louisville Kings

The Louisville Kings are still in the playoffs, and players are not eligible for workouts.

Columbus Aviators

Fields was one of the UFL's best tacklers this season. He earned All-UFL honors in 2026, and had spent four years of vested time with the Cleveland Browns from 2021 to 2024.

St. Louis Battlehawks

Latulas has been with St. Louis for the past three seasons and in 2026 saw his role expand. Already a premiere special teams asset, Latulas was able to account for almost 500 all-purpose yards this past season. His workout with the Broncos will be his first bit of NFL interest in his career. The Battlehawks will also see Sean Fresch earn workouts with the Texans, and Broncos. Fresch served as an All-UFL punt returner for the Battlehawks, while also providing quality reps in their secondary.

D.C. Defenders

The Defenders are in the Championship Game, and players are not eligible for workouts.

Birmingham Stallions

Clark served as a rotational safety for the Stallions this past season. He had several workouts last season before joining the UFL in 2026.
