Betting Line: Birmingham Stallions (+5), Orlando Storm (-5), O/U 44.5 points

This Week 6 matchup offers the struggling Birmingham Stallions a chance to avenge their Week 4 loss to the Orlando Storm. In that earlier meeting, the Storm dominated both sides of the ball, handing the Stallions a 16-0 defeat in their home opener. This setback prompted Stallions head coach A.J. McCarron to trade starting quarterback Matt Corral and defensive end Amani Bledsoe for Storm backup quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson. The Orlando Storm enter this Week 6 rematch after their first loss of the 2026 season to the Saint Louis Battlehawks. Early mistakes let the Battlehawks build a 25-point lead before the Storm attempted a comeback. Offensively, the Storm must return to efficient, balanced play to keep quarterback Jack Plummer from forced throws under pressure. Defensively, they remain the UFL's top unit, allowing just 13.0 points per game.

On the other side of this matchup, the Birmingham Stallions are in a free-fall during a four-game losing streak, the worst stretch they have experienced in modern professional spring football. In a desperate move motivated by the need to reverse their fortunes, the Stallions traded two of their top players for Storm backup quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson. For Thompson-Robinson, who lost the pre-season quarterback battle against Jack Plummer while with the Storm, this game presents a chance to prove his capability and show that the Orlando Storm coaching staff underestimated his leadership skills. Both the team and the quarterback enter this matchup driven by the desire to validate their decisions and abilities.

Another week. Another opportunity.

Orlando Storm Key to Victory #1: Neutralize Stallions QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson

For the Orlando Storm, it is critical this week for their defensive front seven to contain Stallions quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson. What sets Thompson-Robinson apart from Matt Corral is his dual-threat ability. He can extend plays to find completions and move the chains. In Week 5, Thompson-Robinson gave the Stallions offense a big boost against the defending UFL champions, the D.C. Defenders. The Storm defense has the unique advantage of facing Thompson-Robinson in practice during training camp and the first four weeks of the 2026 season. It will be critical for the Storm's pass rushers to keep Thompson-Robinson contained. They must force him to run the offense from the pocket. In addition, the Storm will need to use movements and disguises. This will make it more difficult for Thompson-Robinson to find holes in the Storm's secondary's defensive coverage.

Orlando Storm Key to Victory #2: Re-establish the Ground Game on Offense

On the offensive side of the ball, the Orlando Storm needs to get back to disciplined, balanced football. Last week, the Storm had an uncharacteristic performance, turning the ball over multiple times in the first half. Those turnovers allowed the Battlehawks to jump out to a big lead, reducing the Storm's ability to lean heavily on their running game. Because the Storm relied on drop-back passing, quarterback Jack Plummer faced relentless pressure from the Battlehawks defense. This rattled Plummer’s usual poise, as he typically enjoys reliable pass protection while leading the UFL. To respond, the Storm must establish its running game early with Jashaun Corbin. A productive run attack would force the defense to respect the run, opening up play-action opportunities and bigger throwing windows, thus enhancing protection for Plummer.

Orlando Storm Key to Victory #3: Maintain Defensive Discipline in the Red-Zone

Statistically, the Orlando Storm have the top defense in the UFL after the 1st half of the 2026 season. Much of the Storm's success on defense has been driven by its "bend-but-don't-break" mentality, which focuses on preventing explosive plays. In Week 4, this mentality was maximized against the Birmingham Stallions, leading to the first shutout of the 2026 UFL season. However, this time the Stallions are desperate for a win, which will lead Birmingham to use more trick plays and riskier 4th-down decisions to put points on the scoreboard. In addition, the running ability of the Stallions quarterback, Thompson-Robinson, creates more dynamics for a defense that includes the secondary keeping their focus on their assignments and reads. If the Storm can force the Stallions to settle for field goals rather than touchdowns, Birmingham could quickly see its lack of confidence snowball into demoralization.

Orlando Storm Key to Victory #4: Win the Turnover Battle

During the first half of the 2026 UFL season, the most important statistical area that determines who wins and loses games is turnover differential. Teams that protect the ball and manage their offense to finish drives with points tend to defeat their opponents when they play more aggressively. Until last week, the Storm's offense had been outstanding at managing the ball without risking turnovers. However, last week, Orlando started turning the ball over, which buried their offense before they could get back on their feet. To win this game, the Orlando Storm needs to get back to finding its rhythm on offense and put together long drives that end in points. For Birmingham, turnovers have been contagious, including last week when new Stallions quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson took over the offense. Turnovers have limited the Stallions' scoring.

Game Prediction: Orlando Storm 24, Birmingham Stallions 22
