Birmingham Stallions Sign PK Anders Carlson, OL Joey Lombard

The Birmingham Stallions have signed placekicker Anders Carlson and OL Joey Lombard in a pair of key roster moves leading up to their home opener versus unbeaten Orlando.

The addition of Carlson represents a significant upgrade for Birmingham. The former Auburn standout put up some impressive numbers during a two year stint in the NFL, making 40-48 FG attempts, including a 58 yarder in 2024.

Carlson spent the 2023 season with the Green Bay Packers before splitting 2024 with the 49ers and the New York Jets.

STALLIONS MAKE ROOM FOR CARLSON BY WAIVING PK JONATHAN GARIBAY

Birmingham waived Jonathan Garibay, who never got untracked through the first three games, making good on only 5-8 point after attempts. He also had a FG attempt blocked.

BIRMINGHAM ADD OL JOEY LOMBARD

Birmingham also made a move along the offensive line, signing Joey Lombard. The former South Dakota Coyote spent training camp time with the Stallions, and his addition to the roster was made possible when the Stallions waived OL Jackson Carman. The Stallions are hoping his addition can provide stability to a unit that has been everything but that three games into the season, especially run blocking.

Birmingham returns to action this Saturday at 3:00 PM Central time when they host the unbeaten Orlando Storm in their home opener at Protective Stadium. The game will be broadcast on FOX.
