With the UFL regular season complete, four out of the leagues eight teams will begin looking for the possibility of an NFL opportunity. Traditionally, the Battlehawks have been one of spring football's more successful franchises assisting players reach the next level. Since 2023, the team has seen its players earn 31 opportunities with several earning spots on NFL active rosters and practice squads. as the team begins its playoff push, below are several players that may be worthy of an opportunity at the next level come this fall.
Jarveon Howard Running Back
Howard has been not only a dynamic rusher but also showing versatility as a pass catcher as well. Howard had signed with the Buffalo Bills last season, before an injury forced him to cut his NFL opportunity short. Now healthy in 2026, Howard has continued to be a guiding force with the Battlehawks continuing to stabilize the offense despite inconsistencies with the unit. With another year in the UFL and amassing almost 500 rushing yards, Howard should be able to earn an extended look this signing cycle.
Sincere Haynesworth Offensive Line
Haynesworth may be one of the most underrated offensive linemen in the UFL, eventually earning a starting job at guard over Ryan Coll. Haynesworth has ranked in the top-tier of UFL offensive lineman and should find himself earning plenty of attention come this workout cycle. Haynesworth has spent time with several NFL teams over the past two seasons on and off practice squads.
Ryan Sanborn Punter
Sanborn has quietly put together a successful campaign, even pulling double duty during the Battlehawks week six matchup. Sanborn has been one of the UFL's better punters this season placing at the top with punts inside the 20. With the UFL changing the ability for punters to "pin down" opposing teams Sanborn has shown a strong leg, and precision to make life difficult for the rest of the UFL. Sanborn has also managed to showcase his versatility with his ability to kickoff, kick field goals, and even managing to total almost 10 tackles this season.
Carlos Davis Defensive Line
If it weren't for some "boneheaded" personal fouls, Davis may be an underrated nomination for Defensive Player of the Year and should push for an All-UFL selection. Davis has been one of the better interior defensive linemen in the UFL, and with the NFL seeing success from spring football players at the position, Davis could become the latest to kick start his NFL journey joining Jalen Redmond, Jeremiah Pharms, and Dondrea Tillman.
Honorable Mentions: Tucker McCann, Jordan Mosley, A.J. Thomas, Steven McBride
UFL players traditionally have begun working out for NFL teams upon the completion of their season. Signings have begun upon the completion of the UFL championship game. Last season the UFL saw 63 players earn NFL contracts, with 75 signings in 2024.
