Meet Louisville Kings QB3 N'Kosi Perry

The UFL Louisville Kings entered the first week of training camp with only two quarterbacks on the roster: Jason Bean and Chandler Rogers. However, it didn’t take long for the Kings to quickly fill that 3rd slot. Before the first week of practice ended, Louisville signed N’Kosi Perry.

N’Kosi Perry’s Collegiate Career

A native of Ocala, Perry spent his collegiate football career playing first for the Miami Hurricanes and then the Florida Atlantic Owls.

The Miami Hurricanes

After redshirting his freshman year at Miami, Perry was designated the backup to Malik Rosier. However, he missed the first game of the season when he was suspended for an offseason violation of the team rules.

It was a learning experience for Perry, and afterwards, coach Mark Richt had this to say, “We took some disciplinary action with N'Kosi, but he has since responded well and made some positive changes. He is in good standing going forward, and we look forward to seeing him dress for our home opener and through the rest of the season."

Appearing in 24 games with nine starts over two seasons, Perry eventually won the starting assignment over Rosier. Recording 2,484 passing yards with 24 touchdowns and 10 interceptions, he scored an additional three touchdowns on 111 carries for 217 yards.

Florida Atlantic Owls

Transferring to Florida Atlantic for his final two years of eligibility, he exploded for 5,483 passing yards with 45 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. Proving to be a dual threat, highly mobile quarterback, he rushed for an additional 408 yards on 198 carries with 10 touchdowns.

He was twice named the MVP of the Shula Bowl in back-to-back years. In October of 2021, he completed 18 of 21 passes for 329 yards with three touchdowns to lead the Owls to a decisive 58-21 victory over the Boca Panthers. The following year, he earned the MVP title, recording 14 of 22 passes (64%) for 104 yards, two touchdowns, along with three carries for 16 yards, and two touchdowns.

N’Kosi Perry’s Professional Career

When Perry wasn’t selected in the 2023 NFL Draft, the XFL Seattle Sea Dragons claimed him off waivers. Instead, he chose to play for the CFL Hamilton Tiger Cats.

In early July, Perry was released from the Tiger Cats. He signed with the Sea Dragons the following October. However, with Ben DiNucci firmly established as the team’s quarterback, Perry never had an opportunity to take the field.

When the XFL folded, Perry spent the last two years playing for the Jacksonville Sharks and the European Raiders Tirol in Vienna, Austria.

Seeing only limited action in two games for the Sharks in 2024, he passed for 109 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. He carried the ball 19 times for 109 yards and scored two touchdowns.

The chance to play for Austria in Europe proved a better opportunity for Perry. In 2024, he appeared in nine games and recorded 1,719 yards, 13 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions. He added another 64 carries for 399 yards, with five touchdowns.

The following season, he was re-signed to the Raiders Tirol, appearing in eight games. He recorded 1,4536 passing yards with 16 passing touchdowns and three interceptions. He added another 200 yards on the ground with three touchdowns.

What Perry Offers For The Kings

Now, Perry joins the UFL as the QB3 for Louisville. In addition to his mobility on the ground, Perry brings physical stature. With height an advantage for NFL quarterbacks such as 6’5” Buffalo Bills’ Josh Allen and Detroit Lions’ 6’4” quarterback Jared Goff, at 6’4”, Perry is the tallest quarterback on the Kings roster. Bean is 6’2” and Rogers checks in at 6’0”.

At 27, Perry also has the most professional football experience. His on-field experience and familiarity with playing in various leagues and professional football scenarios are an advantage. Perry’s been through the ups and downs that a pro football career often entails, from the initial thrill of signing with a team, only to be released soon after without taking the field.

Perry's Competition In Louisville

A standout for the Kansas Jayhawks, Bean was an absolute sensation in the Guaranteed Rate Bowl game, where he set a conference bowl record, passing for 449 yards with six touchdowns. However, Bean wasn’t selected in the 2024 NFL Draft. The following month, he signed with the Indianapolis Colts as a UDFA, where he spent the 2024 season on the practice squad.

Rogers, a 2025 college graduate, wasn’t drafted either. Louisville is his first professional experience. During his collegiate career, he compiled a record of 602 completions on 946 attempts for 7,213 yards with 53 touchdowns and 15 interceptions. He added 424 carries for 992 rushing yards with 11 touchdowns.

However, as we’ve frequently seen in this league, the designation at the start of the season can shift dramatically by season's end. If Perry outperforms Bean and Rogers, he could become the starting quarterback.
