Standout Performers from Week 1 of Dallas Renegades Training Camp

Week 1 of 2026 UFL training camp is in the books, and the Dallas Renegades have officially ushered in the Rick Neuheisel era with a bang.

There are a lot of questions about the Renegades entering the new year, since only a third of the team is back from last season, and there are plenty of new faces. The talent level is still very good for Dallas, but fans can't help but feel that has been the case over the last two years, and the team fell short of expectations.

From what was seen from the media at Wednesday's practice, there were a few standout performances from the Renegades that should encourage the fan base that there is plenty of talent. Here is a look at who stood out at practice in Week 1 for the Renegades.

Silas Bolden, WR

When Bolden had the ball in his hands, he was just so quick with his movement and showed the ability to make guys miss. He's someone who has already made an impression on Neuheisel and quarterback Luis Perez right away. That's the type of receiver that is going to be tough for anybody in the league to tackle.

Watch for Bolden over the next few weeks to see how he does in training camp, as he would fit right into a slot receiver position and has returner experience, so he could get looks there, too. He did enough to keep himself in the conversation for the roster because of the specific traits that help him.

Keegan Jones, RB

Jones was really good when he was in on offense, as it was specifically what he did in the passing game. He caught two swing passes out of the backfield and just leaned on his speed to zoom past Renegades defenders. Dallas also had him back on special teams as a returner, as that could be a key spot for him to get more playing time.

Dae Dae Hunter is the leader in the running back room to take the starting job, but with only four running backs on the roster, there is a high percentage chance that Jones makes the team. As long as he keeps making the impact he has on offense and on special teams, he will be on the final roster.

Chris Steele, CB

Dallas' secondary is as deep as it has ever been, but Steele certainly made his presence known. He was great in coverage and almost had himself an interception during the Wednesday practice.

The only certainties in the secondary for guys that should start are Ajene Harris and Myles Dorn, as the talent level everywhere else at safety and cornerback will be too close to call. Steele needed to stand out the way he did, and now he could be in a good position to be on the roster come the end of the month.

Luis Perez, QB

This feels like way too easy a choice because of Perez's background and how good "The Spring King" is, but he really did have a great practice. He is so decisive with his throws and gets them to his receivers in the right spot. His deep pass to Deontay Burnett near the end of practice was by far his best throw on the day.

It's clear that Perez should be the starter on the team; while Austin Reed and Luke Lehnen looked solid, Perez was just better. There was never any doubt that Perez would be good, but that practice was a clear indication that he still has it.
