Hardly Knew You.
Taylor Elgersma, Sam Castronova, Ben Wooldridge
All three of the above-mentioned quarterbacks this year were released at some point. Elgersma and Wooldridge were both released and signed to CFL teams, while Castronova is back in the AF1.
QB 3’s
Aidan Sayin, Hank Bachmeier, Donovan Smith, E.J. Perry
Sayin, Bachmeier, and Smith all served as QB3’s for the majority of the season. Stallions quarterback Donovan Smith did appear in one game on Special Teams due to injuries for the team. Veteran QB E.J. Perry was signed due to Ta’amu’s injury and going into the championship game has not appeared in a game this year.
Brief Cameos:
Michael Pratt
Pratt appeared in one game this season recording two carries for 8 yards. He was released by the team after dealing with injuries.
21. Luke Lehnen Dallas Renegades
5G 1/2 38yds 0 TD 0 INT 12 rush 77yds
Preseason Ranking: #14
Lehnen finally managed to see the field in 2026, after spending the whole 2025 season as QB3. What fans saw was a quarterback with high upside who like many on this list will deserve an opportunity in the future. While it's unclear if Lehnen will have UFL opportunities in 2027, if teams are looking for a change of pace QB, he could provide value to several teams in that space moving forward.
20. Spencer Sanders D.C. Defenders
3G 17/36 243 0 TD 1 INT 13 rush 102yds 3 receptions 13yds
Preseason Ranking: #10
Sanders was finally given the opportunity to play some quarterback this season and while the results were mixed it did unveil something about his future. Sanders is a premiere athlete who had some success playing Wide Receiver in a pinch. With Sanders seemingly going to be on the backend of the depth chart of any UFL team, making a position could give a final opportunity for Sanders to extend his professional football career.
Note: Sanders made an appearance in the Defenders playoff game, throwing an interception for a pick six in his lone pass attempt.
19. Mike DiLiello D.C. Defenders/Louisville Kings
2G 6/8 58yds 0 TD 0 INT 4 rush 9yds
Preseason Ranking: #8
DiLiello had a late season cameo in 2026 that allowed him to showcase his ability to be a high end backup in the UFL. For DiLiello in the 64 career pass attempts he’s earned, he has put together solid film consistently when called upon. Going into 2027, he’ll still be relatively young in his 4th professional season, and should give it one more go to show he belongs. For teams like the Battlehawks, bringing in DiLiello may be an interesting option next year.
18. Michael Hiers Birmingham Stallions
1G 7/15 60yds 0 TD 0 INT 1 rush 1 yd
Preseason Ranking: #19
Hiers had a brief cameo, and what many could believe was an opportunity to compete for the starting job when the team traded for DTR. When it comes down to it, Hiers was the Stallions fourth option and was thrust into a QB2 role. For the future if the staff stays together Hiers may be a fringe option especially finds his way onto an NFL team.
17. N’Kosi Perry Louisville Kings
2G 8/13 89yds 1 TD 0 INT 3 rush 27yds
Preseason Ranking: Unranked
As a late addition Perry earned an opportunity and performed admirably like DiLiello. Perry’s issue moving into 2027 Perry’s NFL window is closed, and may be able to find a niche in the CFL. As far as his UFL career is concerned his ability to put together good tape in week 10 will hopefully allow him a chance to remain on the Kings roster to compete with DiLiello next year. Perry turns 28 in June which may not work in his favor with the league trying to get younger.
16. Taulia Tagovailoa Houston Gamblers
4G 34/64 300yds 2 TD 1 INT 8 rush 43yds 1 TD
Preseason Ranking: Unranked
Tagovailoa had a couple opportunities this season, before an injury ultimately led to his season being cut short and released. Taulia has been around several non-NFL leagues, struggling to find his footing which remains going into 2027. Taulia is a free agent now, and will most likely remain one for the foreseeable future. He should be considered an option for teams looking for a QB2 in the event of injuries/players not reporting next season.
15. Brandon Silvers St. Louis Battlehawks
3G 44/78 460yds 2 TD 3 INT 8 rush 14yds
Preseason Ranking: #5
Silvers like all Battlehawks Quarterbacks have struggled to be comfortable in their offensive scheme eventually getting benched in favor of Harrison Frost. At 32, Silvers may be on the final leg of his football career possibly earning interest as an experienced backup going into 2027. Depending on the direction of the Battlehawks and their coaching staff he may be looking for a new team next year.
14. Matt Corral Birmingham Stallions/Orlando Storm
4G 71/110 768yds 5 TD 4 INT 7 rush 9 yds
Preseason Ranking: #2
After completing his 5th professional season and now 3rd season in the UFL Corral finally earned an opportunity to showcase his skillset with Birmingham and the results were disappointing enough to lead to him being traded to the Orlando Storm. Corral may give it one more opportunity in the UFL especially if he enjoyed his time with Head Coach Anthony Becht, coupled by the fact that Jack Plummer should be on his way to an NFL opportunity. If that's the case Corral should give it one more go, moving forward in his age-28 season.
13. Nolan Henderson Houston Gamblers
5G 40/70 447yds 0 TD 2 INT 16 rush 101yds 1 TD
Preseason Ranking: Unranked
Henderson dealt with a plethora of injuries in 26 (as he has the previous two seasons), forcing him to not maximize his opportunities. Henderson is now moving towards the phase of his UFL career where he is no longer viewed as a starting caliber QB in the UFL, and maybe as a mid-tier backup. Depending on what the Gamblers do (or what the NFL thinks of JRP and Hunter Dekkers), may dictate what happens to Henderson who was the teams fourth option at the position.
12. John Rhys Plumlee Houston Gamblers
4G 25/50 296 1 TD 2 INT 15 rush 118yds 1 TD
Preseason Ranking: Unranked
JRP, like Jason Bean, is an NFL athlete with his insane athletic ability that was showcased at some point during the 2026 UFL season. While it was brief, JRP has had plenty of recent NFL connections that should allow him to garner workouts and attention from teams. If JRP does return to the UFL, a switch to receiver could allow him to have a Greg Ward- like transition and resurgence.
11. Jalan McClendon
8G 154/224 1376yds 8 TD 6 INT 42 rush 238yds 2 TD
Preseason Ranking: #4
McClendon would be benched the final two games of the season making way for his backup Jalen Morton. McClendon struggled mightily pushing the ball down field, often taking check downs rather than reading the whole field. McClendon now goes into his age 31 season in 2027 and with the NFL window closed, coupled by underwhelming performances the last two years McClendon’s future is anything but clear going into next season.
10. Harrison Frost St. Louis Battlehawks
4G 57/107 719yds 7 TD 6 INT 16 rush 26yds 1 TD
Preseason Ranking: Unranked
Frost was a late addition to the Battlehawks, replacing Brandon Silvers only to be replaced by Luis Perez. While Frost had several highlights, he, like Silvers and Perez, haven't truly provided any stability in the Battlehawks offense. Frost will be 31 years old next season, and could be viewed as a backup option for St. Louis or a competition piece if St. Louis decides to go younger. Frost had shown some “spurts” of high level play however, never felt comfortable in the system moving forward. While I’m not ready to close the door on Frost, I would believe that 2027 is a make or break year for the quarterback in regards for his football future.
9. Jason Bean D.C. Defenders
5G 71/150 984yds 5 TD 5 INT 27 rush 179yds
Preseason Ranking: #6
Bean, like several quarterbacks on this list, will be at a crossroads in his career when it comes to fall 2026/spring 2027. Bean is a proven NFL athlete, however his tenure as a quarterback has been uneasy to say the least. Bean’s 2026 in the UFL has been sporadic this season, masked with several questionable plays that have highlighted his overall play throughout the season. While Bean will have another game to showcase himself as a viable option at QB this weekend, he could be in the same boat as John Rhys Plumlee in 2027.
Note: While it wasn’t electric, Bean and the Defenders willed their way to a victory, despite Bean dealing a non throwing shoulder injury.
8. Luis Perez Dallas Renegades/St. Louis Battlehawks
4G 86/145 1018yds 4 TD 6 INT 10 rush 17yds 1 TD
Preseason Ranking: #3
In hopes of rekindling his 2023 resurgence, Perez was traded from the Renegades to the St. Louis Battlehawks after losing the starting job to Austin Reed. Perez managed to “will” the Battlehawks to the playoffs, and even put together a decent playoff game, however it does seem that at this point in his career, he may be viewed as a backup despite his success this season.
7. Jalen Morton
9G 31/72 433yds 4 TD 3 INT 25 rush 140yds 2 TD
Preseason Ranking: #11
Morton proved he belongs in spring football with his two final starts of the 2026 season. Morton showed plenty of arm strength, moxie, and athleticism that raised plenty of eyebrows around the league. While Morton may not be the future of a franchise in the UFL, he certainly can allow himself an opportunity to compete with a younger quarterback for an opportunity to start.
6. Hunter Dekkers Houston Gamblers
5G 69/112 749YDS 3 TD 2 INT 13 rush 74yds 2 TD
Preseason Ranking: #9
Dekkers was bitten by the injury bug plenty this year which hurt his ability to lead a talented Houston team that is still looking for a playoff berth in their history. Dekkers was extremely effective when available, showing plenty of NFL level talent, however if he’s done enough to earn another shot remains the question. If he returns to the UFL, look for him to be a high end starter moving into the 2027 season.
5. Dorian Thompson-Robinson Orlando Storm/Birmingham Stallions
7G 102/181 1157yds 8 TD 6 INT 25 rush 102yds 1 TD
Preseason Ranking: #7
DTR was one of the UFLs most exciting upstarts that nearly willed the Stallions to a fifth consecutive playoff berth. While DTR did have some “lowlights”, his ability and skillset were ever present that allowed him to start five games (appearing in 15) over the first two years of his career. If DTR doesn’t earn an NFL opportunity, he should be a contender for the 2027 MVP award in the UFL
4. Chandler Rogers Louisville Kings
9G 86/138 1119yds 5 TD 3 INT 24 rush 106yds 2 TD
Preseason Ranking: #20
Rogers was this season's biggest riser going from unknown to playoff contending quarterback. Rogers took hold of the starting role mid-year for Louisville and has cemented himself as the guy for the Kings moving forward. A strong playoff run could allow Rogers to generate some sticking power in the league, and it wouldn’t surprise me if he’s an MVP candidate in 2027.
Note: Rogers and the Kings are enroute to a championship berth after defeating the Battlehawks.
3. Jordan Ta’amu D.C. Defenders
8G 109/177 1515yds 14 TD 9 INT 46 rush 196yds
Preseason Ranking: #1
After a slow three weeks (per the usual), Ta’amu began putting together an MVP-esque campaign that should have vaulted him to the final postseason award, however an injury ended his season prematurely. Ta’amu is on pace to break records that have been held since the USFL of the 1980s, and despite his knee injury should return next season to bring stability to the Defenders offense.
2. Austin Reed Dallas Renegades
10G 174/309 1923yds 21 TD 9 INT 30 rush 108yds
Preseason Ranking: #12
Reed was definitely one of the more polarizing QBs this season and one of the few to play the majority of snaps in every game this year. Reed had a tale of two seasons, and despite throwing for almost 2,000 yards and a single season UFL record, the Renegades still managed to miss the playoffs for the 3rd consecutive year. Reed may have done enough to earn another opportunity in the NFL, if not he’s more than deserving at another shot leading the Renegades in 2027.
1. Jack Plummer Orlando Storm
10 G 195/300 2188yds 17 TD 1 INT 30 rush 189yds 2TD
Preseason Ranking: #13
Plummer during the regular season showcased the most consistent quarterback play throughout the year, that should earn him an MVP along with an NFL contract. Plummer led the Storm to a league best 8-2 leading the league in passing yards, and 2nd in passing touchdowns. While not the most dynamic, Plummer showed plenty of athletic ability to work his way out of trouble and make plays on the run.
Note: Plummer and the Storm were defeated in their playoff matchup against the Defenders throwing for 226yds with 1 TD and 1 INT.
