UFL Tryouts 2026: Showcase Dates, Cost, and How to Register

The UFL set two player showcases for the summer of 2026. The first is in Washington, D.C. on August 7. The second is in St. Louis on August 9. Registration is open at showcases.theufl.com. The showcases are how players try out for the UFL. The events take place in 2026, but players are trying out for the 2027 UFL season.

The showcases let prospective players work out in front of UFL scouts and coaches. The league evaluates players on their performance. Results feed into the UFL Draft player pool for the 2027 season. More showcases could be added as the summer continues.

How to Try Out for the UFL

Players try out for the UFL at a showcase. There is no open walk-on tryout. A player registers online, attends a showcase, and works out in front of league scouts. Scouts rate each player. Top performers go into the draft player pool for the 2027 season.

A location transfer costs $25 and is allowed after registration, unless the target showcase is sold out. The registration fee is non-refundable, with limited exceptions.

Registration Deadlines

The deadline for both showcases is August 3. Registration closes early if a showcase sells out. The UFL says showcases are expected to sell out early, and players should register as soon as possible.

Tests and Drills

Each player goes through testing and drills. Tests include height, weight, arm, and hand measurements, the 40-yard dash, the 3-cone drill, and a broad jump. Drills include QB pocket movement and position drills. Long snappers have a long snap drill and can register for either session. There is no kicker or punter testing.

UFL Tryout Eligibility

A player is eligible if he meets these rules:

  • Graduated high school in 2025 or earlier, or has used up college football eligibility.

  • No more than five years have passed since his last college or pro football game.

  • Not under contract with another pro football league.

  • Not a member of a college football team for the 2026 season.

Specialists (kickers, punters) can find information at NickNovak.com. Players can attend more than one showcase but can register for only one position — offense or defense — at each.

Refund Policy

The registration fee is non-refundable. The UFL lists three exceptions. Players not accepted into the showcase get a full refund. Players signed by the NFL before their showcase date can cancel for a full refund with a copy of the signed contract, submitted one week before the tryout. Players with a disabling injury get a full refund with documentation from a doctor or team physician.

Showcases run rain or shine. The event pauses for lightning until it is more than five miles away.

What's Next

The UFL lists two showcases on its 2026 schedule as of publication. The league ran more events in past years and could add dates as the summer goes on. Players who want a spot in the 2027 draft pool can register now.
