Week 6 Preview: The Louisville Kings v. The St. Louis Battlehawks

With both teams hitting their stride at the season’s mid-point, the intensity picks up, and things will get even more competitive. Calling the Dallas victory, “An incredible team win,” Louisville coach Chris Redman told the team in the post-game locker room, “There is nobody holding us back. This train is rolling.”

Arguably, having one of the toughest schedules in the league with two games against the Storm, along with Dallas and Houston, the Kings now prepare to face the winning Battlehawks on a very short turnaround.

St. Louis Quarterback Harrison Frost

Although UFL veteran Brandon Silvers started the season for the Battlehawks, he was benched at halftime in Week 3, and Harrison Frost took over against the Birmingham Stallions. Trailing 23-13 at the start of the fourth quarter, Frost gave an incredibly gutsy fourth-quarter performance. After tossing two back-to-back interceptions, Frost settled down to engineer a heroic come-from-behind win. Bouncing back with three touchdowns, including a stunning 64-yard touchdown to All-Pro wide receiver Hakeem Butler, Frost led the team to a 34-30 victory.

In three games this season, the 6’1” 194 lb. former Seattle Sea Dragon completed 35 of 67 (52%) of his passes for 477 yards with five touchdowns. Last week’s win against the Storm accounted for 20 of 31 of those attempts for 185 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions. He added six carries for 21 yards and one touchdown.

Louisville Kings Quarterback Chandler Rogers

Making his debut as the Kings' QB1, Chandler Rogers was calm, efficient, and confident. Displaying solid chemistry with his receivers, he spread the ball around, putting together extended drives and putting his team in scoring position. He finished the afternoon, completing 13/18 passes for 150 yards. Rogers didn’t record any touchdown passes, but instead, relied on his running backs to score.

Benefitting from four rushing touchdowns, plus two field goals, and a couple of pick-sixes, the Kings didn’t have to punt once. A natural locker room leader, Rogers has already earned the respect of his teammates and coaches alike.

The Louisville Offense

After making several changes to the roster ahead of the Dallas game, the Louisville offense posted its most impressive showing of the season. Ian Wheeler's four rushing touchdowns set a UFL single-game record. Rogers displayed solid chemistry with his receivers, spreading the ball around to TE Zach Davidson, Lucky Jackson, Tyler Hudson, and Isaiah Winstead. However, it was Tarik Black, making his first appearance of the season, who was the team’s top receiver with five receptions for 59 yards.

In addition to Wheeler (19 carries for 64 yards with four TDs), former Jacksonville Jaguars elite rookie running back James Robinson has helped resurrect the Kings' ground game over the past two weeks. Robinson has 20 carries for 82 yards and a touchdown.

The Battlehawks Offense

Frost gained the benefit of one of the best receivers in the UFL in Butler. Despite missing the first game of the season, he leads the team in receptions with 13 for 358 yards and two touchdowns. Tight end Tyler Neville leads the team with three touchdowns, while Jahcour Pearson has 15 receptions for 109 yards. Steven McBride has nine catches for 109 yards and one touchdown. After seeing limited action with three receptions for 11 yards, tight end James Bostic scored his first touchdown of the season last week.

Jarveon Howard, who had an impressive 31-yard dash last week, has 42 carries this season for 156 yards. UFL newcomer Kylin James has eight carries for 21 yards and a touchdown.

The Louisville Defense

Throughout the season, Jamie Sharper’s unit has established itself as the UFL's premier defense. On Sunday afternoon, they set a new standard. In the locker room after the game, Coach Redman rejoined with the team, "Defense, golly! You get a pick. You get a pick. You get a pick!”

Cornerback Bryce Hall was the first to pick off Reed. Then CB Corey Mayfield Jr. had two interceptions, and Antonio Grier Jr. finished the quartet of picks, along with 6 tackles. In total, the defense recorded four interceptions, 2.0 sacks, 4TFLs, and seven PBUs. This defense just keeps getting better and more fun to watch as the season goes on.

Louisville Special Teams

Calling the victory in Dallas a total team effort, Redman praised the special teams unit as well. UFL rookie Tanner Brown has converted 14 of 15 field goals this season (93.3%), including four of five over 50-yards.

The Battlehawks Defense

The Battlehawks defense has several talented UFL veterans, led by San Antonio Brahmas standout Jordan Mosely, who leads the team with 27 tackles (19 solo) and an interception. Jordan Williams isn't far behind with 24 tackles (12 solo), three PBUs, and a pick-six to his credit. Carlos Davis, Demone Harris, and Sean Fresch lead the team in sacks.

Following the victory in Dallas, Coach Redman said, "Our guys are really excited to get back home. We want to get a home win in Louisville for our fans.”

The Kings host the St. Louis Battlehawks at Lynn Family Stadium on Thursday, April 30, 2026. The action gets underway at 8:00 pm EDT, and the game will be televised on FS1.

The over/under is set at 45.5 with the Battlehawks favored by 3.5 points.
