As UFL cut day looms, the Battlehawks are doing another pivot to their Quarterback room. Per James Larsen of PFN, Michael Pratt is returning to the team with St. Louis opting to release Ben Wooldridge.
The move comes after Head Coach Ricky Proehl announced that the Battlehawks day one starter was still in competition between veteran Brandon Silvers, and Pratt's replacement Harrison Frost, regulating Wooldridge to the QB3 position. With the decision to bring back Pratt the team obviously felt that his upside was higher than what the team has seen in Wooldridge.
Pratt was selected in the UFL's QB allotment portion during the 2026 UFL draft in January. Pratt played college football at Tulane, before going in the 7th round of the 2024 NFL draft to the Packers, spending 2024 and part of 2025 with Green Bay and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Now, Pratt will compete for an opportunity with Silvers who has amassed an 11-6 record as a starter in various spring football leagues, while accounting for almost 4,000 passing yards and 33 TDs, along with Harrison Frost who after spending 2023 with the Seattle Sea Dragons, has spent the last two seasons with the CFL's Hamilton Ti-Cats.
Last season the Battlehawks utilized Silvers, Max Duggan, and Manny Wilkins enroute to an 8-2 record, resulting in a lost to the eventual UFL champion D.C. Defenders in the playoffs. The Battlehawks will open the 2026 season with the Defenders at home, March 28th.
