Just one day after signing defensive tackle Kevin Strong to the roster, the Dallas Renegades' latest move explains why they brought in another lineman.
The UFL Communication Department's X account shared that Renegades defensive tackle Chace Davis was placed on the retired list. Dallas selected Davis in the draft last month.
Davis played two seasons with Bowling Green in 2023 and 2024, racking up 44 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, three sacks, and three passes defended in 24 games he appeared in. He had previously attended East Los Angeles College for two seasons and then transferred to UTSA for one year before moving on to Bowling Green. Davis attended the Kansas City Chiefs’ rookie minicamp during the 2025 offseason, but was not signed to the team.
Renegades DT Chace Davis Placed on Retired List
Dallas is back to having five defensive tackles on the team, including the newly added Strong, Domenique Davis, DaMarcus Mitchell, Darrius Moragne, and Antwuan Jackson. Moragne and Jackson appear to still be the favorites to start for the Renegades based on their experience with the UFL starting and playing.
Strong has a chance to make an impact if he can quickly acclimate to the defense and get reps. He previously started for the Detroit Lions and Arizona Cardinals, so that experience gives him an advantage over the other guys.
This will be one of the position battles to keep an eye on during training camp for the Renegades, as all five have a chance to get significant playing time. It'll be all about who can make the most of their reps while on the practice field.
