With the NFL back in full swing during training camp several UFL players continue to earn their opportunities as teams prepare for the 2026 season. With training camp in full swing,we're taking a look back at how each NFL team has utilized spring football as a developmental pipeline during the modern era of spring football since 2022. We continue the series with the Baltimore Ravens, highlighting every spring league player the organization has signed over the past four years.
Despite having one of the more tenured and vested spring football players in long snapper Nick Moore from the 2020 XFL, the Ravens have been extremely quiet when its come from acquiring talent since the rebirth of the USFL in 2022.
The team has only signed three players total since 2022, both of which came from the USFL. Wide receiver Bailey Gaither from the Pittsburgh Maulers went viral for his 1 v.1 rep against Kyle Hamilton, however would be waived and brought back on their practice squad for one week before returning to the USFL.
A year later defensive back Tae Hayes(Birmingham Stallions) would earn a spot with the Ravens in 2023 after bouncing around the NFL the year prior. Hayes would earn a practice squad opportunity with Baltimore only to be released 8 days later.
Now after several years, Renegades Quarterback Austin Reed joins Baltimore after an injury to veteran Skylar Thompson with a legitimate opportunity to earn the role as QB3 for the Ravens.
Reed is now going up against UCONN/Maine alum Joe Fagnano who was a 2026 UDFA. In his first appearance Reed flashed some of his electric playmaking ability with a rushing touchdown in the final quarter of their week one preseason game just after being signed only several days prior.
If Reed is able to cement himself and carve a niche out for himself, it could allow the Ravens to look to the UFL more if needed to provide quality depth moving forward.
