Eight Offensive Prospects the UFL Should Consider post NFL-Draft

With NFL Rookie Mini-Camps in full swing, followed by the first wave of roster realignment has begun for NFL teams with the UFL already taking advantage. The UFL's Houston Gamblers amid a slew of quarterback injuries recently signed John Rhys Plumlee who was released by the Pittsburgh Steelers on April 28th.

With the rosters of many NFL teams being filled by a new wave of UDFAs, the remaining athletes from the 2026 class have now begun to look for the next step in the professional careers whether it be in the UFL or CFL.

Earlier in the pre-draft process I made a list of several players the UFL could look at moving forward, with several players on that list, signed below is a list of eight offensive options the UFL could sign moving forward.

Mante Morrow Upper Iowa Wide Receiver

Morrow is 6-4, 210 pounds and is coming fresh off rookie minicamp with the Eagles and could remain active in the pro football circles. Morrow amassed 55 catches for 1,007 yards and 12 touchdowns across 11 games, in 2025 and could be an instant upgrade for a team like the St. Louis Battlehawks. Morrow would be the second player from the Division-II Upper Iowa University Peacocks to join a spring football team since 2023 (Erik Hansen).

Andrew Devine Carroll-MT Offensive Lineman

Devine owns a huge frame standing over 6-6 and 300 lbs. Coming from an NAIA school Devine earned a rookie minicamp invites with the Chiefs, and Colts and while he is a raw small-school prospect the UFL has given several NAIA players chances over the past several years.

Zach Switzer Presbyterian College Running Back

The grandson of Cowboys/Oklahoma's legendary coach Barry Switzer may be the perfect "piece" to bring in the new OKC UFL team. Switzer amassed over 2500 all-purpose yards and 19 touchdowns at Presbyterian College, showing versatility at the Running Back position.

Jeff Sims Arizona State Wide Receiver

Sims is transitioning to Wide Receiver earning two rookie mini-camp invitations since the conclusion of the NFL draft. With Sims transitioning and needing reps the UFL (specifically the D.C. Defenders) could help him find his footing for the future of his NFL career.

Derek Robertson Monmouth Quarterback

Small school quarterbacks have found some success and opportunity in spring football like Luis Perez, Case Cookus, or Kenji Bahar and Robertson could follow in those footsteps. Roberston owns good size, along with above average on field production throwing for over 10,000 yards in college. He'd be a solid fit in Dallas, or St. Louis for the 2027 season.

Isaiah Jacobs UAB Running Back

Jacobs' slow 40-time doesn't "pop" at all but his last name does. He's the brother of All-Pro running back Josh Jacobs and has ties to Birmingham. Jacobs could garner extra eyes on the UFL, and could help refine his game in spring football as well.

Curtis Allen Virginia Union Running Back

The 2025 Harlon Hill amassed 2500 rushing yards and 30 rushing touchdowns enroute to division two's most prestigious award. Allen has received limited NFL interest since the draft, however the HBCU product should receive a shot from the UFL or CFL, as each winner since 2019 has earned a professional contract.
