13. John Rhys Plumlee Houston Gamblers
2/3 -3yds 0 TD 0 INT 0 rush 0yds 0 TD
Week Eight Ranking: #9
We didn’t get to see the magic of John Rhys Plumlee this week, and with the Gamblers still in contention for a playoff spot, we may not for a little bit. While Plumlee’s chances of seeing the field are limited because of how Hunter Dekkers has played, the quarterback is extremely capable at this level if given a greater sample size.
12. Luke Lehnen Dallas Renegades
2 rush 5yds 0 TD
Week Eight Ranking: #10
Lehnen was once again used a read option/change of pace option, however with Reed’s play improving it appears that he’ll be utilized in that niche for the remainder of the season. Lehnen has ability and if Reed transitions to the NFL, he should have a shot at being his successor in 2027.
10. Jalen Morton Columbus Aviators
1/1 -1yds 0 TD 0 INT 2 rush 11yds 0 TD
Week Eight Ranking: #11
It was more of the same for Morton, who is primarily used as a gadget player. While the Aviators are seemingly bought in on McClendon, Morton has earned the right to showcase his skillset in a full-game however, it appears fans will have to wait another week.
9. Jordan Ta’amu D.C. Defenders
2/4 62yds 1 TD 2 INT 2 rush 13yds 0 TD
Week Eight Ranking: #4
Ta’amu’s week eight performance found himself with an early exit due to a knee injury that is ending his season prematurely. Ta’amu had the Defenders off to a hot start ultimately, however his absence was the difference in D.C.’s loss.
8. Jalan McClendon Columbus Aviators
19/30 151yds 0 TD 2 INT 4 rush 18yds 0 TD
Week Eight Ranking: #7
McClendon has continued to regress, with another underwhelming performance for the Aviators. It appears at this junction he’s playing scared, and refuses to push the ball down the field. With the season coming to an end, McClendon has seemingly pushed himself from backend starter to high end backup moving into the 2027 season.
7. Spencer Sanders D.C. Defenders
7/15 83yds 0 TD 1 INT 5 rush 27yds 0 TD
Week Eight Ranking: N/A
Sanders made his debut as a professional quarterback this week, after several cameos as a wide receiver. The results were extremely mixed with a quarterback who hasn’t had an adequate amount of live game reps. Sanders may be in a QB battle this week with Jason Bean this week as D.C. hopes to make a playoff push for the 2nd consecutive season.
6. Luis Perez St. Louis Battlehawks
26/47 308yds 1 TD 2 INT 1 rush 0yds 0 TD
Week Eight Ranking: #5
Despite some highs, there was clear regression in Perez’s arm strength this past weekend. Coupled with the Battlehawks mishap as time was expiring, Perez also seems not to be on the same page as offensive coordinator A.J. Smith. With the Battlehawks a game away from clinching a playoff berth, the “spring king” needs to play to his strengths in the hopes of manufacturing a win in week nine.
5. Dorian Thompson-Robinson Birmingham Stallions
12/20 126yds 1 TD 1 INT 5 rush 7yds 0 TD
Week Eight Ranking: #3
It wasn't the same dynamic performance that we've seen from DTR the past couple of weeks, however ultimately he was able to put together enough plays to earn a victory for Birmingham. Much like with Rogers, DTR has reinvigorated his team allowing them to push for a playoff berth.
4. Chandler Rogers Louisville Kings
11/20 143yds 1 TD 1 INT 6 rush 24yds 0 TD
Week Eight Ranking: #2
Rogers was able to keep Louisville pushing forward despite a slow start at first. While Rogers didn't wow the stat sheet, his consistent effort allows the Kings to remain competitive, while also appearing to elevate his team around him. Rogers has reinvigorated the Kings, from the back half of the season, and should be able to find himself a nice role moving forward in 2027.
3. Hunter Dekkers Houston Gamblers
15/22 155yds 2 TD 1 INT 4 rush 15 yds 0 TD
Week Eight Ranking: #6
It’s truly a shame we haven’t had the privilege of seeing Hunter Dekkers for a full eight games this year, as he’s shown some massive upside. Dekkers should have at a minimum six more quarters to showcase his skillset with the hopes of earning another NFL opportunity. If he continues to put together strong outings, he could find himself back in New Orleans, who currently are only carrying three quarterbacks.
2. Austin Reed Dallas Renegades
12/23 134yds 3 TD 1 INT 6 rush 27yds 0 TD
Week Eight Ranking: #8
Reed bounced back a bit in week eight, showing some of the grit and skill that spearheaded him to MVP consideration in weeks 1-3. Reed’s play doesn’t depict the full story of his week eight performance with Renegades receivers being victim to several drops. The intangibles are there for the Renegades signal caller, and he managed to showcase that in Fort Hood, however he’ll need to rekindle his connection with Tyler Vaughns if he hopes to push Dallas to the playoffs.
1. Jack Plummer Orlando Storm
24/36 238YDS 0 TD 0 INT 4 rush 70yds 2 TD
Week Eight Ranking: #1
It’s becoming Groundhog Day for Plummer at this point. Find Elijah Badger, play clean football, and make some plays with his legs. With the season ending injury to Ta’amu, Plummer may have the inside track on the MVP race as well.
